My famous guacamole

Updated: Jul 20

I went from absolutely hating guacamole as a kid to being the girl that will pay extra to add guac to anything! Lets be real: life is just better with a little guacamole. Creamy, zesty, bright, and loaded with healthy fats makes my guacamole a dip that can change any guacamole hater into a guacamole lover!

I’ve made this recipe so many times, I could probably mash it together in my sleep. It’s simple, fresh, and packed with flavor (because no one wants bland guac, ever). This recipe has gotten me the title of the designated family guac maker, something I am very proud of!

Whether you’re scooping it with chips, topping your tacos with it, or eating it with a spoon (like my husband does), this version is chefs kiss every single time.

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 ripe avocados

  • Juice of 2-3 limes (or more to taste)

  • ¼ red onion, finely chopped

  • 1-2 small garlic cloves minced or grated

  • 1 whole bunch of fresh cilantro, chopped

  • Sea salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Slice avocados, remove pits, and scoop flesh into bowl

  2. Mash gently with a fork—leave it a little chunky for some texture

  3. Stir in garlic, red onions, and cilantro

  4. Add lime juice and season with salt and pepper. Taste and tweak to your liking

  5. Serve immediately or store with plastic wrap directly on the surface to keep it green and glowy.

This recipe is not only full of glow-supporting healthy fats but it’s a crowd pleaser every single time. This is my go-to appetizer to bring to a friend’s house, dinner party, or just a solo snack night-- I make this for everything! You can dress it up or keep it classic. Either way, it always disappears fast!
