If you are anything like me and coffee obsessed, you know how hard it can be to find a delicious seasonal coffee flavor that doesn't come loaded with refined sugar, artificial syrups, and ingredients that leave you feeling wonky an hour later. I wanted something indulgent but still aligned with feeling good in my body.

So I started making my own coffee syrups at home—and this refined sugar free cherry almond version quickly became a favorite! This syrup is light, sweet, and perfectly balanced with the subtle tartness of cherries and the richness of almond. It turns your everyday coffee into a cafe worthy treat, without the sugar spike!

Cherry and almond are a classic pairing for a reason. The cherry brings a brightness and natural sweetness, while almond adds depth. Together they make the perfect spring coffee moment. Most store-bought syrups rely on refined sugars and artificial flavors. This version keeps things simple, using natural sweetness and real ingredients to create a bold, seasonal flavor that won’t overpower your nervous system. This syrup is made without refined sugar, artificial flavors, or unnecessary additives.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar

  • 1 cup of filtered water

  • 1 tsp almond extract (more if you like)

Directions:

  1. In a small saucepan combine cherries, coconut sugar, and water. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring often.

  2. As the mixture heats, continouslty mash the cherries to releaswe their juices. This is where all that rich cherry flavor comes from.

  3. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes, continuing to mash the cherries throughout.

  4. Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool completely.

  5. Once cooled, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer, pressing the cherries well to extract the juice.

  6. Stir in almond extract, the store and enjoy for up to two weeks!

The result is a warm cherry-almond flavor that enhances your coffee instead of overwhelming it — supporting steady energy, balanced blood sugar, and that soft, glowy feeling we’re all after.
